Do I own the Band?
Yes. You own the Band. It is yours to keep, including after your Plan ends.
Ownership of the Band is separate from paid access to the Thrive app, My Health on the web, Ask Thrive and Thrive Loops. Those connected services are part of your Plan and are not ongoing after the included period unless you choose the Thrive Connected Plan or buy Thrive Complete again.
You also own your data. You choose what to share through Thrive Loops, and you can change or revoke access at any time.
Why does Thrive have Plans?
Your Plan pays for one connected health system, built around you. The Band captures your signals. The app and web portal bring them together with your everyday habits to help you understand what they mean.
We understand wanting fewer subscriptions. That’s why Thrive brings sleep, recovery, activity, nutrition, body composition, mood, symptoms, medications and health records into one place. Your Plan also includes Ask Thrive for questions in everyday language, and Thrive Loops for sharing with the people you choose.
The value continues beyond the day you receive your Band. As you wear it and add context, Thrive learns what’s usual for you and helps you explore patterns across your health. Your Plan supports that ongoing analysis, along with software updates and improvements.
One Plan keeps it all connected, so you can spend less time piecing information together and more time putting it to use.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 14 days on a charge. A full charge usually takes about 30 to 40 minutes. You’ll get a reminder at 35%, and you can check battery in the app under Settings.
Can I wear Thrive in the shower, pool or sauna?
Yes for shower and swim. The Band is IP68 / 5 ATM. It’s rated for sauna use up to 80°C and cold down to −20°C.
How does Thrive compare with Whoop?
Whoop is typically used for strain, recovery and sleep around training. Thrive is a connected health picture: the Band, the mobile app and My Health on the web together. You add everyday context such as nutrition, mood, medications and records. Thrive learns your personal baseline, builds a Health Fingerprint, and lets you Ask Thrive in ordinary language. It also measures body composition and includes Thrive Loops for sharing with people you choose. Nutrition, women’s health, men’s health, gut health and activity sit in one place. You never own a device with Whoop and have to pay extra for ECG. Whoop uses population benchmarks.
How does Thrive compare with Hume Band?
People may compare Hume and Thrive as wearables. They’re not the same class of product.
Thrive is a five-sensor Australian-designed system: PPG, single-lead ECG, bioimpedance, skin temperature and motion, feeding a personal baseline, Health Fingerprint with Ask Thrive, My Health on the web, and Loops. Context you record sits with your signals, not scattered across other apps. Australian owned, designed, developed and supported. We source components globally (multi-sourced), assemble the band to our specification, and own the product, and it isn’t a white-label of someone else’s wearable.
Hume sells a longevity-framed band. Its Band 2.0 FCC filing lists a Chinese OEM as the equipment-authorisation grantee. Different ownership model: brand + OEM path, versus a product designed and controlled end-to-end by an Australian company.
How does Thrive compare with Oura?
Oura is a sleep and readiness ring. Battery is typically about a week. Many people still bolt on other apps for a fuller picture.
Thrive is a wrist Band with five sensing technologies: PPG, single-lead ECG, bioimpedance, temperature and movement. Results are labelled measured, estimated or derived. Thrive Complete includes the Band, app and web portal in one plan, with a Health Fingerprint over time and Ask Thrive. Sleep, recovery, activity, heart, body composition, food, medications, blood tests and the context you record sit together, so you do not need to integrate other apps for the complete picture. Up to 14 days between charges. IP68 / 5 ATM for showering and swimming.
Does it work with iPhone and Android?
Yes. The Thrive by Optihealth app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
What happens after 12 months?
You keep the band and nothing renews automatically. Renew Thrive Complete for another A$660 and get a new band plus 12 more months of the Thrive Connected Plan, or keep your current band and renew the Thrive Connected Plan for A$240 a year (A$20 a month).
I'm not very techy. Is it easy to use?
Yes. Put the band on, download the app, and Thrive does the rest. There's no screen to manage and no buttons to learn. Ask Thrive answers questions in plain English, and My Health on the web lets you see everything on a bigger screen.
Can I share it with my GP?
Yes. Thrive Loops lets you share selected information with your GP, physio, trainer or someone you trust, for as long as you choose. Thrive gives wellness estimates and trends, not a diagnosis, so it's a useful picture to bring to the conversation.
Is it a medical device?
No. Thrive supports general health, fitness and wellbeing. Some measurements are estimates or trend-based indicators. If something doesn't feel right, talk to your GP.
When will it arrive?
Orders are dispatched in 2 to 3 business days, with free shipping Australia-wide.
